Dr.
Botaro Hirosaki is currently the Senior Vice President
and the Executive General Manager of Intellectual Asset Operations
Unit of NEC. He received a BSc. degree in electrical engineering
from the University of Tokyo and an MSc. degree in electrical
engineering and computer sciences from Princeton University.
Since 1970 he has been engaged in the research and development of high speed data communication systems, digital signal processing technologies and network protocols. In 1986, he was awarded Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo for his pioneering work of OFDM system developments.
From 2000 to 2003, he was responsible for the optical communications business of NEC as the Associate Senior Vice President.
He is the Fellow member of IEEE, and the Fellow member of the IEICE, Japan.
