In 1984, he obtained the Richard Merwin Reward as the best Ph.D. researcher.

In 1981, he received the Fulbright Award towards a Ph.D. degree in George Washington University where he received it in 1985

In 1977, he received his Master degree in Computer Engineering from Ain Shams University

He received his B.Sc. Degree from the faculty of Engineering , Alexandria University with Honors in 1968.
